Retraction, Correction & Expression of Concern Policy
The Journal of Nursing Research, Patient Safety and Practice (JNRPSP) is committed to the integrity of the published clinical record. Given the patient safety implications of erroneous clinical findings, JNRPSP maintains a rigorous and transparent process for handling post-publication issues.
Corrections (Erratum/Corrigendum): When a published article contains a minor error that does not affect the integrity or conclusions of the findings, the journal will publish a formal correction notice linked bidirectionally to the original article.
Retractions: An article will be retracted if there is clear evidence of: fabricated or falsified data; plagiarism or duplicate publication; undisclosed ethical violations (including failure to obtain IRB approval or informed consent); findings that are unreliable due to error or misconduct. A retraction notice will be published, linked to the retracted article, and the PDF will be watermarked 'RETRACTED' with the retraction date and reason.
Expression of Concern: Where an investigation is ongoing and readers should be alerted, an Expression of Concern may be published pending the investigation outcome.
Appeals: Authors may appeal retraction decisions by providing a written rebuttal to the Editor-in-Chief within 30 days. The appeal will be reviewed by an uninvolved Editorial Board member.
All decisions follow the COPE Retraction Guidelines: https://publicationethics.org/retraction-guidelines
