India generates over 150,000 tonnes of solid waste daily, with urban areas contributing the majority. This waste includes domestic, industrial, and commercial waste. Recycling rates have historically been low due to a lack of infrastructure and awareness. However, the need for proper sorting and recycling of waste is increasingly recognized. A significant portion of recycling in India is done by the informal sector, which includes waste pickers and small recycling units. In this study, the researcher examines the awareness level of waste Management and recycling methods among the industries, analyzes the challenges faced by the industries in Waste Management and Recycling methods, and suggests ways for the future growth of Waste Management and Recycling methods among Industries.
Dr. A. Specifically, it assessed challenges faced by planting for food and jobs in local economic development, and how planting for food and jobs has affected Ghana's local economic development. The study adopted the interpretive paradigm and the case study approach to emphasize how Planting for Food and Jobs affects local economic development from the participant's point of view and perception of reality. The study employed both qualitative and quantitative methods and was conducted in Ghana. The study found that the program's challenges with service delivery can be attributed to a lack of government financing, which has also led to other issues including the failure of various programs that were intended to promote development. Findings revealed that the creation of jobs through Planting for Food and Jobs has increased the number of farmers, which has a direct impact on the pace of output. The introduction of the program has helped farmers improve their businesses and provided opportunities for individuals to engage in farming, which led to a minor improvement in the status of the local economy. It is then recommended that the Government should support the program with enough funds to increase the program’s local economic development potential.
Jemima Jennifer Acquah Donkoh Copyright (c) 2024 Authors https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ https://journal.hmjournals.com/index.php/JPOME/article/view/4280 Mon, 03 Jun 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Executive Compensation and Financial Performance of Quoted Industrial Goods Manufacturing Firms in Nigeria https://journal.hmjournals.com/index.php/JPOME/article/view/4281
The study investigated the relationship between executive compensation and financial performance of quoted industrial goods manufacturing firms in Nigeria. The study utilized an ex-post facto research design due to the lack of control over the data collected, focusing on four (4) listed industrial goods manufacturing companies in Nigeria out of a population of thirteen (13). This sample was selected purposively based on the availability of complete and up-to-date data from the companies' annual financial reports obtained from the Nigerian Exchange Bulletin for the year 2023. Through secondary data sources, the researcher conducted descriptive statistics and linear regression analysis to investigate the relationship between salary, bonus, and profit after tax of the selected firms. This approach allowed the researchers to explore existing data and draw insights into the financial dynamics of the industrial goods manufacturing sector in Nigeria without directly intervening in the data collection process. The results revealed a significant positive association between salary and profit after tax, indicating that higher salaries may contribute to increased profitability for these firms. However, bonus was found to have no significant impact on profit after tax. These findings suggest that while salary plays a crucial role in influencing profitability, bonus schemes alone may not directly affect the financial performance of industrial goods manufacturing companies in Nigeria. Hence, the investigators further suggested that management should review salary structures to ensure competitiveness and alignment with employee responsibilities and performance, potentially leading to increased productivity and profitability. Also, management should implement performance-based bonus schemes tied to specific key performance indicators or financial targets to incentivize employees towards strategic goals and drive productivity.
Nwaba Evans, Eke Promise, Achoronye Charles Chidi, Ellah Bridget Agbonma Copyright (c) 2024 Authors https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ https://journal.hmjournals.com/index.php/JPOME/article/view/4281 Mon, 03 Jun 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Factors Affecting Performance of Micro and Small Scale Enterprises (Case of Karat Town, Konso) https://journal.hmjournals.com/index.php/JPOME/article/view/4282
The aim of the study was to examine factors that affects the performance of micro and small scale enterprises with the special emphasis on manufacturing, construction, service, trade and urban agriculture sector in Karat town. The study used close- ended questionnaires to collect the primary data from the sample respondents. Correlation and multiple regression analysis were used to analyze the data. The result of the study indicated that there is positive and significant relationship between the dependent and the independent variables, but the effect of access to infrastructure on MSEs’s performance was found positive and insignificant. 62.5 percent variations in performance were explained by the predictor variables.
Mr. Gedeno Gemeda Negash Copyright (c) 2024 Authors https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ https://journal.hmjournals.com/index.php/JPOME/article/view/4282 Mon, 03 Jun 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Analysis of the Effectiveness of Company Value in Manufacturing Companies https://journal.hmjournals.com/index.php/JPOME/article/view/4290
Currently,itheiindustrial worldiis developingiincreasinglyirapidly.
