Retraction, Correction, and Expression of Concern Policy

Retraction, Correction, and Expression of Concern Policy

The International Journal of Information Technology and Computer Engineering (IJITC) is committed to maintaining the integrity of the published record. This policy follows COPE Retraction Guidelines.

Corrections (Erratum / Corrigendum)

If a factual error is identified that materially affects the conclusions of a published article, the Editorial Office should be contacted at editor.ijitc@gmail.com. Errors introduced by the journal are published as an Erratum; errors introduced by the authors are published as a Corrigendum. Both are bidirectionally linked to the original article via CrossMark and assigned a new DOI.

Retractions

An article may be retracted when: (a) it contains major errors that invalidate findings; (b) it constitutes plagiarism or duplicate publication; (c) it reports unethical research; (d) the peer-review process was compromised; or (e) the authors fabricated or manipulated data. Retracted articles remain online, clearly watermarked RETRACTED, with a retraction notice explaining the reason.

Expressions of Concern

Where an investigation is ongoing and a definitive conclusion cannot yet be reached, the Editor-in-Chief may issue an Expression of Concern to alert readers. This notice is updated or replaced by a retraction or correction once the investigation is complete.

Procedure

  1. Allegation received by Editorial Office.
  2. Initial screening by Editor-in-Chief within 10 business days.
  3. Investigation following COPE guidelines (involving reviewers, institutions, or legal counsel where required).
  4. Decision communicated to all parties.

Notice published online with a CrossMark update.
