Improved Aims & Scope Statement
Aims and Scope
The Journal of Energy Engineering and Thermodynamics (JEET) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to advancing knowledge in energy science and engineering, thermodynamics, and their interdisciplinary applications. The journal welcomes original research articles, review papers, and communications reporting significant theoretical, computational, and experimental findings.
JEET serves researchers, engineers, policymakers, and industry professionals working to address challenges in energy conversion, utilization, efficiency, sustainability, and thermal science.
Topics within scope include:
- Engineering thermodynamics and thermodynamic cycles
- Renewable energy systems (solar thermal, wind, geothermal, biomass, ocean energy)
- Energy storage technologies and thermal energy storage
- Heat transfer and fluid dynamics in energy systems
- Combustion science and combustion engineering
- Building energy performance and HVAC systems
- Thermoelectric and thermochemical conversion
- Exergy analysis and entropy generation minimization
- Energy policy, economics, and sustainability assessment
- Biothermodynamics and energy in biological systems
- Thermal management in electronics and industrial systems
- Carbon capture and low-carbon energy technologies
- Artificial intelligence and machine learning applied to energy/thermal systems
Out of scope:
- Purely computational studies with no relevance to energy or thermodynamics
- Agricultural or biological sciences without a clear energy/thermal systems connection
- Pure materials science without application to energy engineering
- Social sciences, economics, or management without energy policy content
Manuscripts that do not address topics within the stated scope will be rejected at the desk review stage without peer review.
