Digital Preservation and Archiving Policy

The Journal of Media, Culture and Communication (JMCC) is committed to the long-term preservation of all published content. The journal employs multiple strategies to ensure the permanent availability of its articles.

PKP Private LOCKSS Network (PKP PLN)

JMCC participates in the PKP Private LOCKSS Network (PKP PLN), which enables distributed digital preservation of all published content across a network of participating libraries worldwide. This ensures that content remains accessible even in the event of system failure or journal discontinuation.

LOCKSS

The journal supports the Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe (LOCKSS) initiative, which allows libraries to collect, preserve, and serve content directly to their patrons.

Self-Archiving / Green Open Access

Authors are permitted to archive the final published version (Version of Record) of their articles in institutional repositories, subject repositories, and personal websites immediately upon publication, without embargo, under the terms of the applicable Creative Commons license.

Persistent Identifiers

All published articles are assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) through Crossref, ensuring permanent, citable links to content regardless of URL changes.

Database Preservation

Article metadata is deposited with Crossref and is accessible through all participating indexing databases, providing additional redundancy for content discovery.
