Funding Disclosure Policy

All authors must disclose all sources of financial support for the research reported in their manuscript. This requirement applies regardless of whether the funding organisation had any involvement in the design, conduct, analysis, or reporting of the study.

What Must Be Disclosed

  • All funding organisations and grant-awarding bodies
  • Grant numbers and award identifiers
  • The role of the funder (if any) in study design, data collection, analysis, decision to publish, or manuscript preparation
  • In-kind contributions such as equipment, materials, or staff time provided by external organisations

How to Disclose

Authors must include an 'Acknowledgements and Funding' section in their manuscript using the following format:

'This work was supported by [Funding Organisation] under Grant Number [XXXX]. The funder had no role in study design, data collection and analysis, decision to publish, or preparation of the manuscript.' OR 'This research received no specific grant from any funding agency in the public, commercial, or not-for-profit sectors.'

Compliance with Funder Open Access Requirements

Authors are responsible for ensuring that publication in JPDMHD meets any open access requirements imposed by their funders. JPDMHD is a fully open access journal under a CC-BY 4.0 licence, which is compliant with most major funder mandates (e.g., Wellcome Trust, NIH, UKRI).

Non-Disclosure

Failure to disclose funding may result in a correction to the published article or, in cases where the omission was deliberate and materially affects the interpretation of the work, investigation under the Research Misconduct Investigation Procedure.
