Abstract

The paper focused on building teachers’ capacity for effective technology integration into teaching and learning in tertiary institutions. The concept of capacity building has been discussed and justification for it elucidated. Also, identified and deliberated was technological, pedagogical and content knowledge (TPACK) framework as viable model for enhancing teachers’ capacity to integrate technology into teaching and learning effectively. The paper also identified and discussed guidelines for effective technology integration into teaching and learning in tertiary institutions and finally it was suggested among others that there should be adequate funding as fundamental requirement to meet the training needs of staff and provide technological tools and other basic infrastructures.
